So, here’s how it will work:

Gran Turismo
  • You’ll have to log on our website and submit your record idea. We will have a number of new records idea for you to be inspired from, but you will also be able to submit a new idea of your own. Whatever your idea, we want to hear from you.
  • We are in touch with the best expert gamers from around the world who will assess your idea and decide what the required minimum will be, before sending to you the specific rules to follow.
  • Remember, a record is not a record until our team of experts has examined your claim and given the official stamp of approval. So once you have completed your attempt, you will need to send us all the required documentation supporting your claim.
  • Guinness World Records has the highest standards on verification of ‘High Score’ and ‘Fastest time’ records. A ‘High Score’ or ‘Fastest time’ record can only be set or broken ‘live’, under close supervision of our trained videogames referees. So, when you apply for these type of records your name will be shortlisted and added to a database of potential record holders and you will be informed of the next available live event where you can break the record and show the world how good you are!
  • If you want your record achievement ratified immediately – or you want your official certificate presented the moment you successfully complete it – you can set up the record attempt in a public space near your home and apply to have one of our trained videogames adjudicators attend your event, at any time.

 Need to be inspired?

We have four different categories of videogame records

  1. High Scores and Fastest Completion Times on individual game titles - to be assessed under "live" gaming conditions in front of an adjudicator
  2. Technical achievements and industry/product-related accomplishments - such as most powerful games console, best-selling game, largest gaming league, etc
  3. Non-gaming (but gaming-related) feats such as most people dressed as a videogame character, largest virtual funeral, etc
  4. Finally, we're willing to consider any claims for specific in-game achievements such as fastest time to play Donkey Kong without using the hammer, fastest time to finish [game] blindfolded, etc
