Twin Galaxies is the world authority on player rankings, gaming statistics and championship tournaments, with pinball statistics dating from the 1930s and video game statistics from the early 1970s.

In 1951, Sir Hugh Beaver, then the managing director of the Guinness Brewery, realised that a book supplying the answers to this sort of question might prove popular. He was right!

| WHAT: | Prepare for a King of Kong-style battle as fans of classic arcade games convene at the world’s largest arcade to battle for a Guinness World Record™ and a chance to be included in next year’s Guinness World Records™: Gamer’s Edition! Funspot Family Entertainment Center will host the 10th Annual Classic Video Game & Pinball Tournament, where numerous records will be up for grabs on myriad machines. A six-game pinball tournament, a 10 game video game tournament, and a special high score contest on Stargate and Defender will be held. This year marks the return of the Manufacturer’s Challenge, as well, in which players compete for the all-around high score in six games from a single manufacturer, which will be announced on the opening day of the tournament. |
| WHO: | Guinness World Records US Marketing Manager Doug Parsons will be on hand to adjudicate any record attempts and award Guinness World Record™ plaques to the winners. Twin Galaxies’ Walter Day will also be running a special high score contest on Stargate and Defender, as well as adjudicating any other record attempts. Both will be available for interview. Plus, the best gamers from across the country and globe will be at this world-class arcade event. |
